Richard Allred, CFP®, CFA, AIF®

Senior Financial Consultant

Rich graduated from Babson College with a concentration in finance and economics in 2007 and began working full-time with Robert Jarras at Ameriprise Financial as an associate financial advisor. Rich joined KSP Financial Consultants in January 2014 as a senior financial consultant.

Rich is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations. He is a member of the CFA Institute and Boston Security Analysts Society and also holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®. Rich's main responsibilities are creating and implementing financial plans for his clients with an emphasis on investment, retirement, and estate planning. Outside of work, Rich’s hobbies include basketball, golf, skiing, and visiting family and friends in Maine. 

Robert Jarras, AIF®

Senior Financial Consultant

Bob has more than 45 years of experience as a financial consultant. He began his career in 1967 at Investors Diversified Services (IDS), which became American Express Financial Advisors and then ultimately Ameriprise Financial. While at American Express Financial Advisors, Bob was recognized with the highest honor of being inducted into the company’s hall of fame. In January 2014, Bob joined KSP Financial Consultants as a senior financial consultant.

Bob specializes in retirement planning, wealth management, and estate planning. In 2014, Bob earned the right to use the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation. He holds the FINRA Series 1 and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®.

Bob has been married to Vicki since 1974. They have one daughter, Hedy, who owns the pizza restaurant Sweet Tomatoes in Newton Centre, West Newton, and Needham. His interests include spending time with his family, going to Cape Cod, skiing, and traveling. 

Andrew Karelis, AIF®

Partner

Andrew is a partner at KSP Financial Consultants, LLC, an independent investment and financial services firm focused on the growing financial needs and protection considerations of successful professionals, pre-retirees, and retirees.

Andrew has 14 years of experience as a consultant in the financial services industry. He specializes in providing sophisticated planning and investment management strategies for individuals, families and institutions.

He is a registered representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, member FINRA/SIPC, an independent broker/dealer with a national network of more than 1,300 financial professionals, which has been recognized 10 times as Broker/Dealer of the Year by Investment Advisor magazine.

In 2015, Andrew was named #10 in the United States for Independent Advisors under the age of 40 by Rep Magazine.1 For the past 6 years, Andrew’s appeared in Boston Magazine as a 5 Star Wealth Manager as named by Crescendo Business Services.2

Andrew holds numerous professional registrations and certifications, including the Accredited Investment Fiduciary®(AIF®) designation; FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®; and his Massachusetts life and health insurance licenses. He maintains client relationships and registrations to practice in more than 30 states throughout the country. 

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Andrew was a financial consultant with American Express Financial Advisors in Manhattan. He later moved to Boston to work with KSP Financial Consultants.

Outside of business, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife, Kim, their two daughters, Arianna and Alexis, and the family dog, Winnie. He’s actively involved in many charitable organizations, including the Alzheimer’s Association. He’s an avid runner and you’ll often find him running down the historic streets of Lexington, MA, where he lives with his family.

Jeff has almost 50 years of experience as a financial consultant. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1969, Jeff began his career with Investors Diversified Services, where he was a sole practitioner until 1993, when he and Matt Sliwa founded Karelis, Sliwa & Associates.

In January 2006, the firm changed its name to KSP Financial Consultants and simultaneously changed its broker/dealer affiliation to Commonwealth Financial Network®. Jeff is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner, a Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). His specialties include protection planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. He holds FINRA Series 1, 24, 63, and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network and is a member of the Financial Planning Association and Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Jeff has been married to Joanie since 1974. They have two children. Andrew is a senior financial consultant with KSP Financial Consultants, and Emily practices real estate law in Boston. Jeff's interests include movies, golf, tennis, reading, travel, and spending time with his three grandchildren.

Robert J. Perimian, CFP®, AIF®

Senior Financial Consultant

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services arena, Bob brought with him five years of mortgage banking experience when he joined American Express Financial Advisors in 1989. Since that time, he has worked to help his clients understand and solve the financial problems they face. He specializes in retirement, estate, and investment planning for individuals and in retirement plan design for business owners. Bob is a 1976 graduate of the University of Massachusetts School of Business Administration, earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification in 1991 and his Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation in 2010. He currently holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network.

An avid angler who has fished from Australia to Costa Rica, Bob also holds a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license. He has used his passion for fishing to help the Genesis Fund raise money for children with birth defects. Bob is part of a small group of people who banded together in 1981 to start the John Havlicek Fishing Tournament, currently the largest event for the Genesis Fund. In 2004, Bob worked with the Massachusetts Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to bring the Redbone Tournament Series to Nantucket to “Catch the Cure for Cystic Fibrosis.”

Bob lives in Woburn with his wife, Martha. 

Edward Scott Porter, CFP®, AIF®

Partner

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in political science from Amherst College, Ted worked in advertising before entering the financial services industry in 1986 at Fidelity Investments. In 1988, he joined American Express Financial Advisors and in 1996 became a partner at KSP Financial Consultants.

In addition to Ted’s client work, he leads the firm’s employer benefits efforts. Ted is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner and has earned the right to use the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations. Ted holds the following securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network: FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65.

Ted and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Belmont with their two sons, Ben and Sam, and their two dogs, Bo and Bristol. They are actively involved with their college alumni societies. Outside of business, Ted’s interests include hiking, travel, skiing, golf, squash, and time with his family.

Therese Ricci

Therese joined KSP Financial Consultants in 2006, with the arrival of senior financial consultant Robert Perimian. She has worked with Bob since 1998 as a client service specialist, focusing on asset transfers, appointment preparation, and schedules. Therese has 19 years' previous banking experience with Guaranty First Trust and five years' experience running a family business.

Therese resides in Waltham with her three children: Lisa, Thomas, and Edward. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and gardening.

Matthew J. Sliwa III, CFP®, CFA, AIF®

Partner

Matt has spent more than 18 years as a consultant in the financial services industry. After receiving a degree in economics from Harvard University, Matt, along with Jeff Karelis, founded Karelis, Sliwa & Associates, a firm focused on the financial planning, asset management, and protection needs of executives, professionals, pre-retirees, and retirees. With the addition of partner Ted Porter and other team members, the firm evolved to become today's KSP Financial Consultants.

Matt's primary duties are creating and implementing financial plans and investment portfolios for his clients. He also heads the firm's investment research initiatives and is responsible for determining the firm's overall recommendations for asset allocation and tactical investment shifts. Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, CFA Institute, and Boston Security Analysts Society and also holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network. In both 2013 and 2015, Matt was named to the Financial Times 400 Top Advisors list*.

Matt and his wife, Christina, reside in Newton with their three children. They are actively involved with charitable organizations representing disadvantaged children, education, and faith. Matt is part of his class gift committee at Harvard, and he serves as co-chair on the Board of Ambassadors for The Home for Little Wanderers and on the finance council of St. Ignatius Church. Outside of business, Matt's hobbies include hockey, travel, reading, and time with family.

Corrine Sonia

Corrine joined KSP Financial Consultants in May 2007. Since then, she has received her FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations. Her main responsibilities include trading, asset transfers and rollovers, preparing for client meetings, and client service.

Prior to joining the firm, Corrine worked in the health care industry as an office manager. She attended Suffolk University for undergraduate studies and in 2006 received her MBA from Bentley University. Corrine lives in Framingham with her husband, Michael, and daughters, Lexie and Haley.  She most enjoys doing anything and everything with family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoys entertaining, cooking, and traveling. 

Varicia Vanterpool

Front Desk Client Services Specialist

Varicia joined KSP Financial Consultants in April 2016. Her main responsibilities include managing the front desk area, client and office services and advisor support.

Prior to joining KSP Financial Consultants, Varicia worked in the veterinary medicine industry as a veterinary technician. She attended the University of Connecticut and in 2008 received her BS in Environmental Science. Originally from New York, Varicia currently lives in Arlington and enjoys exploring the outdoors and spending time with friends.

Robert J. Zdanis

Operations Manager

A graduate of Northeastern University, Robert first worked at American Express Financial Advisors in January 1990.  He teamed up with what was then Karelis, Sliwa & Associates in November of 1995.  During his tenure at KSP Financial Consultants, Robert has transitioned through several roles, including that of financial plans specialist, client services liaison, and operations manager.  He holds his Series 7 and 63 FINRA registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®.

Originally from Venezuela, Robert, has made Massachusetts his home away from home.  He, his wife, Christina and their daughter, Arielle enjoy a serene country setting in the town of Upton.  They also enjoy traveling and time spent with family and friends.   Robert's leisurely interests include playing soccer with Arielle, cooking, photography and building PCs.
